Jorge Alcala has an estimated 5 years and 157 days of major league service time — 5.157 in the notation clubs use, from 1017 days credited on a major league roster.
| Season | Club | Days | Running total | How this season is known |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2019 | Minnesota Twins | 16 | 0.016 | From transactions |
| 2020 | Minnesota Twins | 161 | 1.005 | From transactions |
| 2021 | Minnesota Twins | 172 | 2.005 | From transactions |
| 2022 | Minnesota Twins | 172 | 3.005 | From transactions |
| 2023 | Minnesota Twins | 172 | 4.005 | From transactions |
| 2024 | Minnesota Twins | 152 | 4.157 | From transactions |
| 2025 | Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins | 172 | 5.157 | From transactions |
172 days credit a full year, so a season adds at most 1.000 no matter how long a player is on a roster. 3.000 years reaches salary arbitration and 6.000 reaches free agency —
what every threshold unlocks.
